The joy of teaching Yoga after my holiday
During August I’ve had a few weeks away from my regular yoga classes - one occasion was due to attending World Yoga Festival and another for a family holiday. What struck me was how connecting it feels to return each time, and the feelings of joy I have afterwards.
Yesterday was particularly powerful and after a very busy working week, a Friday afternoon class before I go home from work. I taught a Vinyasa class to 12 yogis - each of whom have also come straight from their working day.
There were some new faces, others returning after a break and the regular attenders.
I notice how different it can feel to hold the space on different weeks and how my confidence has grown over the last year, despite teaching for many years.
The value of coming together, the energy in the space and the connection both within the group and that I feel with each of the students and collectively.
I am intentionally using more invitational language in my classes and I seek to empower those who choose to attend classes with me.
